Shehbaz Sharif Fuel Scheme Rs.100 Per Litre Petrol Relief and Registration Guide
This fuel scheme has been launched by the Government of Pakistan to provide assistance to the people affected by the rise in prices of petrol. Who Can Apply for Fuel Assistance?
The proposed scheme is meant for users of the following vehicles:

Fuel Scheme Registration
The registration process for the new fuel relief scheme has commenced, as per reports released on September 14, 2026. It has been confirmed by the government that the registration process will involve the use of digital methods and vehicle data to determine eligibility. The process for registration has been shared by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunications.

Basic Registration Process
How to apply:
- Open the SMS application on the mobile SIM registered in your name.
- Type the following format:
REG CNIC VehicleNumber ProvinceLetter RegistrationDate - Send the SMS to 9771.
- Registration is a one-time process.
- After successful registration, send TOK to 9771 before visiting the petrol station.
- You will receive a fuel relief token by SMS.
- Show the token at an eligible petrol station to receive petrol at the subsidized rate.

When Will the Fuel Scheme Start?
The launch process will be phased in gradually. The fuel relief scheme will commence at Islamabad within the night of September 14-15, 2026. The nationwide implementation process including AJK and GB will begin within the night of September 16-17, 2026.
This phasing process means that the access to this relief depends upon the location and the stage of rollout.
Why did the Government introduce this Scheme?
Prices of petrol have been hiked due to pressures in the global oil market and geo-political conflicts.
The latest petrol price is Rs. 375.82 per liter, while the cost of high speed diesel has also been hiked considerably. The government has introduced this targeted relief to mitigate the negative effects of high fuel prices.
What Is the Current Petrol Price?
The current price of petrol is Rs. 375.82 per litre. At Rs. 100 reduction per litre, the effective price in terms of the relief quota would be around Rs. 275.82 per litre. But remember, this reduction of Rs. 100 applies to the litres included in the relief quota. It does not mean that there will be a Rs. 100 discount on the general price at petrol pumps.
